About this site
I love games as a gamer, developer and nerd. I've been playing video games for more than 40 years and writing code for at least three decades. gamedev.wtf is where I want to combine both worlds.
This blog isn't just about playing games, but about what's behind them. How to define good gameplay? Why is a game fun or not? Which mechanics, systems and design decisions are the reason?
I write for everyone is interested in games. Whether you are a professional game designer in a big studio, a solo dev building your dream game or just wondering why you spent 400 hours on that one stupid game.
On gamedev.wtf you'll find:
- Reviews from a developer's perspective
- Tutorials and guides for Unity and GameMaker
- Opinions, analyses and nerd thoughts
- Interviews with people I find interesting
- Dev stories from my own games
My goal? I want this site to be an honest, nerdy, sometimes chaotic love letter to games and development. I also want to meet great people, start cool projects - and maybe, just maybe, earn some money along the way.
But most of all I hope you find something on this site that will inspire, challenge, or teach you something new.
